The Freedom of Information Handbook

The 15th Edition of the Arkansas Freedom of Information Handbook is now available here, and copies may be ordered by contacting the Arkansas Press Association (501.374.1500) or Arkansas Attorney General. The 56-page publication has been updated to include changes from the 88th Arkansas General Assembly and contains the entire Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), procedural information on asserting the law, major court decisions relating to FOIA and an extensive question and answer section compiled by the Attorney General's Office.

Published every two years, the handbook is sponsored by the Arkansas Governor, Arkansas Attorney General, Arkansas Press Association, Arkansas Broadcasters Association, Society of Professional Journalists, Associated Press Broadcasters Association, Associated Press Managing Editors and the Arkansas News Bureau.

Photo Contest Finalists Announced

The finalists in the 2012 Directory Cover Photo Contest have been revealed exclusively in the APA Forums. Of the seven finalists, the three top vote getter will be announced in January when the Arkansas Media Directory is distributed and will be featured on the cover. Longs named state Farm Family of the Year

Heath and Betsy Long of Tichnor are the 2011 Arkansas Farm Family of the Year. Their selection was announced Friday at the annual luncheon honoring the county and district Farm Families of the Year. Ashley Wimberly, marketing director for the Arkansas Press Association (APA), represented the organization at the event. APA has been a leading sponsor of the program since its inception.
