The Arkansas Press Association will host a special seminar highlighting the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act on September 19th at the APA headquarters in Little Rock.

The seminar kicks off at 10:45 with a presentation by John Tull of the Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull law firm. Tull, a two-time winner of APA's FOIA award, is an expert on FOIA and will offer practical tips and suggestions on access to public records and meetings under FOIA.

Following Tull's presentation, a panel of journalist will discuss how they use FOIA for investigative reporting and for holding public officials accountable. The panel will include Chris Wessel, Jonesboro Sun; Sarah Perry, Saline Courier; and Debra Hale-Shelton, journalist who formerly ran the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's Conway bureau.

Seating is limited to the first 35 people, so attendees are encouraged to register now. Registration cost is $35 for APA members and associate members and $45 for non-members. Lunch is included.
