Food service and lodging at Arkansas's state parks will resume on May 15, Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced.

At its start, lodging will be available to Arkansas residents only and lodges will only be operational from Fridays through Mondays. The remainder of the week will be used to ensure proper cleaning, he said.

Meanwhile, camping at state parks will be open to in-state, self-contained recreational vehicles only starting on Friday (May 1).

Hutchinson is expected to make announcements about re-opening plans for privately-owned restaurants and other businesses later this week.

As of April 28, there were 3,111 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Arkansas and 52 deaths.
